John Turner, Housing Specialist and Coordinator of the Rental Assistance Program, was asked to present at Lincoln Housing Authority's press conference regarding new funding provided by the US. Department of Housing and Urban Development Department (HUD). John presented on the community's need for subsidized housing for persons with disabilities. The Lincoln Housing Authority received an additional $526,062 over the next five years by the US. Department of HUD. The funding is provided by HUD's 2005 Mainstream Housing Opportunities for persons with Disabilities Program. This funding will allow LHA to provide 20 additional Section 8 vouchers for households that include persons with disabilities.
